ANNIE (ANNE) TOMCHUK

Peacefully, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at HSC, Annie (Anne) Tomchuk, aged 93, passed away.

Anne was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba, on February 17, 1933. She worked for Manitoba Hydro until her retirement in 1991.

Anne enjoyed travelling with her friends, playing golf, and playing cards, especially Bridge. Later in life, she enjoyed tending her flower beds, watching curling, and cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Most importantly, she was an amazing aunt to all.

Anne is survived by her seven nephews and their families, along with numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews, and her sister-in-law, Helen.

Anne was predeceased by her father, John; mother, Paraska (Polly); brother, William (Bill); sister, Mary; brother-in-law, Eugene; and great-nephew, Troy.

The family wishes to thank the staff at HSC Emergency and the Palliative Care nurses for their care and special attention.

A private family service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My mother, Mary nee Tomchuk, who was the sister of Annie's father, John Tomchuk, and I visited Annie many times at her modest and always very neat and well appointed home in the North End many times over the years. She was always thrilled to see us and conversation was lively over tea and dainties. Annie was quite opinionated and had lots to say about lots of things. For a few decades she housed and cared for her parents, John and Polly, whom we also very much enjoyed visiting. She had her hands full with that, I am sure, especially when Polly ended up in the personal care home since Anne was always going over there to make sure Auntie had what she needed and was comfortable and well-taken-care-of. I used to drop in to her place on my way to and from Fisher Branch when I was still mostly living there and I will miss that connection to the family gossip line. - Posted by: ROSEMARY HNATIUK (FIRST COUSIN) on: Jul 07, 2026
